On the 6^th of September 2018, BCA Energy Director Michael May and Energy consultant Robert Romanous presented a CPD course, Pathways to compliance to Geoform Architects.

Geoform architects is a small architectural and interior design studio who pride themselves on taking on a variety of projects, whilst not limiting their niche or themselves. Geoform focuses on a site-specific, intelligent and quality driven architecture as well as working across many industries including commercial, retail and residential.

The CPD course presented by BCA Energy, focused on the Deemed to Satisfy (DTS) approach to Section J compliance, detailing the benefits of incorporating energy efficient design from the start of a project. The course also included details on construction and operational cost savings with a JV3 alternative solution and how JV3 energy modelling can open up different design avenues not possible with DTS.

The presentation ended with a discussion about BASIX and how small design changes can greatly improve thermal comfort results using BERSpro or FirstRate5 software.’
